Overview

How to Fish Wiki & Guides is a static informational website. We built it to be as low-friction and privacy-respecting as possible: there are no user accounts, no comment system, and no forms collecting personal information on this site today.

Information We Collect

Because this site is hosted on standard web infrastructure, our hosting and content-delivery provider automatically logs basic technical information common to virtually all websites — things like IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages visited. This is standard server/CDN log data used for security, abuse prevention, and understanding overall site traffic; it is not tied to a named individual on our end.

Cookies & Third-Party Content

This site embeds a small number of third-party resources that may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies, independent of this site:

• Google Fonts — used to load the site's typefaces from Google's font-hosting service.
• YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com embed) — used on the homepage to embed the official How to Fish trailer via YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode, which limits cookie use unless you actively interact with the video player.

We don't control these third parties' data practices. Review Google's and YouTube's own privacy policies if you want details on how they handle data from embedded content.

Analytics

If this site adds an analytics service in the future, this policy will be updated to disclose what's collected and why before that change takes effect. Any such service would be chosen with a preference for privacy-respecting, aggregate-only measurement (page views and traffic sources) rather than individual user tracking or cross-site profiling.

Do Not Track

Because this site does not currently set its own tracking cookies or build visitor profiles, there is no first-party tracking for a "Do Not Track" browser signal to disable. Third-party embeds (see above) may honor such signals according to their own policies.

Data Retention & Your Choices

Standard hosting/CDN access logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes and are not sold or shared with third parties for advertising. Because this site does not use tracking cookies of its own or maintain user accounts, there is no personal profile to request, export, or delete on our end. You can always limit third-party data collection from embedded content (like the YouTube trailer) using your browser's own privacy settings or extensions.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

External Links

This site links to external destinations, including the official Steam store, Dazed Games' website and social channels, and third-party modding sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review independently.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
